WASHINGTON -- Mortgage rates fell to the lowest level in decades for the 10th time in 11 weeks, as investors worried about the economy. The average rate for a 30-year fixed loan was 4.32 percent this week, down from 4.36 percent last week, mortgage buyer Freddie Mac said Thursday.

More people are choosing 15-year fixed-rate mortgages as opposed to 20 or 30 year loans. A recent study shows between January and June, 26 % of homeowners who refinanced chose the 15 year loan plan.
